Riding for The Disabled is a national orgainisation and committed to improving the lives of people with disabilities. The object of Ludlow and District Riding for the Disabled is to give the opportunity of riding a horse or pony to any disabled person who might benefit int their good health and well being. OSCA Oswestry and Shropshire Citizen Advocacy, establishes support and provides advocates for people with learning difficulies.
South Shropshire Disability Access Group, works with the local authorities, providers of goods and services and other organisations to meet the needs and solve the problems of access throughout South Shropshire. It works towards achieving better access for people with all kinds of disabilities. Usually meets at the Red Cross Centre, Smithfield Car Park on the 2nd Tuesday of alternate months at 7.30pm. Allsorts (Ludow) this is a support group for parents and carers of children with conditions such as ADD, ADHD, Aspergers, Autism and other behavioural conditions. They usually meet on the second Wednesday of the month at 2a Palmers House, 7 Corve Street, Ludlow at 10.00am - 1.00pm. Helping Hand Association (South Shropshire) this group organizes monthly outings for people who are disabled. Membership is open to those between the ages of 16 and 65 who are registered disabled and referrals must be through a social worker. Volunteers pick up members from their own homes.
