Shine Community Skills Project, The Shine Project is a new project for people who are not currently working but would like to learn some new skills and take part in some local activities.  It is open to all adults aged 19+ and is based at the Rockspring Community Centre, Sandiford Road, Ludlow, SY8 1SX.  Activities such as cookery, arts & crafts, music workshops, fit club, confidence building, "lads and dads" activities, cv writing, carpentry etc..Tel   Liz Edwards, Shine Project Outreach worker  01584 874922.

Skillbuilders CIC  This is a voluntary organisation set up to support the next generation of artisans.  It has many supporters and has won awards including the Queens Award for Volunteering.  Its aim is to to work with local businesses enabling young people to get access to training locally giving real skills to those wanting to develop and learn. Volunteers pass on technical and enerprise skills to the next generation accross Ludlow, Leominster and Tenbury Wells providing career opportunities at a time when young people need help most. Many skills can be passed on  for example practical careers such as butchers, bakers and chefs from facilities such as afterschool clubs to Young Chef Awards and much more.  For more information visit www.skillbuilders.org.uk or contact Graeme Perks 07977 892097.

Shropshire Broadplaces  - brings IT facilities, training and activities to local communities in Shropshire.  www.shropshirebroadplaces.org.uk.  It has bases in and around Ludlow such as Caynham, The Rockspring Centre Ludlow and at The South Shropshire Youth Forun.  Many of the Broadplaces have drop in sessions for casual use, some offer formal training and specialist worshops.  To find out more contact  Flavia Humphreys 01743 210311.
