Ludlow Concert Band  this is an exiting new Town Band for Ludlow.  It is a wind band which includes adults and children who have reached at least grade II.  They rehearse at Red Cross Centre, Smithfield, Lower  Galdeford, on Thursday evenings 7pm to 8.30pm in a friendly relaxed atmosphere.  It is FREE to join and there are no subs, they are looking for more players.  The aim is to perform live music to the local community.  Instruments are available.  The Website is www.ludlowband.co.uk  for more information contact Colin or Amanda on 01584 875608 (01584 873418).

Ludlow Orchestra - The orchestra has around 50 players and rehearses fortnightly on Sunday evening at Wistanstow Village Hall and gives 2 to 3 concerts a year  in St Laurences Church, Ludlow.  It is a registered charity  no 1043173, The Musical Director is Igor Kennaway and Chairman is Diana Whittard  tel  01743 344233.  www.ludloworchestra.co.uk
Igor Kennaway says "Our recent concert at St Laurence's was a 'return' and 'launch' of the Ludlow Orchestra.  The decision to move back there was fully rewarded by the increased interest, much due to the improved advertising as well as the significance of the venue, and the audience numbers were extremely pleasing, as was their response.  As such, I hope that our concerts will prove an enjoyable forum for music lovers of Ludlow and its surrounding areas to hear good music and meet and make new friends in what is undoubtedly one of the nation's most notale churches.  Let us also hope that people coming to our concerts will also wish to dine and shop in Ludlow and therefore bring in some useful commercial benefits to the town."

LARKS  Ludlow Community Choir,  tel 01584 823609, info@oak-barn.co.uk, meets on alternate Wed evenings at The Women's Centre, any age, mixed choir, sings songs from around the world.

Ludlow Choral Society,  this is a mixed choir of about 130 members.  The rehearsals are on Tuesday evenings and gives 3 main concerts a year usually at St Laurences Church.  It is a registered charity no 511414  and the Musical Director is Patrick Larley, Rehearsals are held in the Methodist Church, Broad Street, Ludlow from 7.30 to 9.30 on Tuesday evenings from the beginning of Sep to the end of June.  Interested singers should contact our Membership Sec Sue Jones on 01584 874747, suejones@ludlowchoral.org.uk ,   www.ludlowchoral.org.uk

Ludlow Music Society, enquiries 01584 876141, www.ludlowmusicsociety.org.uk usually organizes concerts which are performed at Moor Park School.  Membership of the L.M.S. offers a Season Ticket for 5 conerts.  Coach transport from Ludlow (sheet Road)/(Corve Street-Library)/(Ludlow Bridge Garage) is available.  Email james@caird.org.uk 

Shropshire Youth Jazz Ensamble  01743 724928,  meets Sat mornings at Church Stretton School, ages 10-18  open to all players.

Ludlow Male Voice Choir,  practice at The British Legion Club, 7.30pm on Thursdays the Musical Director is Margaret Davies.

Teatime Sing-along sessions  These informal sessions are aimed for all abilities (no need to read music).  It includes old favourites, songs from the shows and more, then enjoy tea together.  It takes place at The Assembly Rooms, on Tuesdays, 3 - 4pm and entry fee is £3.50 including tea/coffee and cake.  It is fun and based on the principal that singing makes you feel great!  Enquiries 01584 878141.
